The Springfield Town Library and the Friends of the Springfield Town Library (FOSTL) invite the community to an evening of music with acclaimed transatlantic folk artist Kyle Carey on Friday, August 14, at 6:00 p.m. The concert will be held at the First Congregational Church, 77 Main Street, Springfield, Vermont.

Known for her distinctive style of "Gaelic Americana," Carey blends the musical traditions of Appalachia with the rich heritage of the Celtic world. Her performances explore the enduring cultural connections between Scottish Gaelic music and the Appalachian folk tradition through compelling storytelling and beautifully crafted songs.

The daughter of nonfiction author Richard Adams Carey and a Fulbright Scholar with a degree in literature, Carey brings both academic insight and artistic passion to her work. After achieving fluency in Scottish Gaelic, she developed a unique musical voice that celebrates the shared history of Celtic and Appalachian cultures.

Often compared to a blend of Loreena McKennitt and Alison Krauss, Carey has earned acclaim for her evocative performances that appeal to audiences of all ages. Her engaging concerts combine history, language, and music into an unforgettable cultural experience.
