Diversion in Conversation, Tuesday, September 1, 6-7:00pm

Join Brandon, Jon, and Beth from Valley Court Diversion Programs for an engaging panel discussion where they will share insights into restorative justice, diversion programs, and the real-world impact of their work. The conversation will explore challenges, successes, and the importance of community-based approaches to justice, followed by an opportunity for audience questions and dialogue.

Brandon Sheridan, Tamarack and Pretrial Services Coordinator, joined VCDP in April 2025. He is a passionate advocate for mental health treatment and restorative justice, with years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges.

Jon Bautel, Balanced and Restorative Justice (BARJ) Case Manager, is committed to fostering personal growth and strengthening community resilience. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Southwest. His background includes restorative justice, mediation, and youth advocacy, with experience facilitating programs across Michigan.

Beth Kopp, Driver’s License Suspension and Adult Diversion Case Manager, joined VCDP in winter 2025 as a License Reinstatement and Diversion Specialist. Previously working with the Vermont Treatment Court, she brings valuable experience and a continued dedication to restorative justice practices as she takes on new challenges.

Together, they offer a thoughtful, restorative approach to supporting individuals and building stronger communities.
